Bachelor in Special Education

A Bachelor in Special Education prepares teachers to practice inclusive education for individuals with disabilities. Participants in the degree program learn teaching methods to educate and develop students with physical and learning disabilities who require specialized support to receive an education.

What is a Bachelor in Special Education? This undergraduate degree provides students with a framework of empowerment, advocacy, behavior and education methods to teach and support individuals with disabilities. Special education coursework extensively covers the skills and understanding necessary to work with special needs students in a classroom or social services setting. Participants study the physical and mental disabilities that require special education and their influence on learning and development. They leave the program capable of successfully working with and educating people with diverse needs. Students may choose to concentrate their coursework on their areas of interest, such as assessment methods or disability specialization, in order to tailor their career paths after graduation.

Objectives of the Course
The B.Ed. (Special Education) programme aims to develop teachers for children with disabilities for various settings. The B.Ed. (Special Education) course will prepare human resources to enable them to acquire knowledge and develop competencies and skills to impart education and training effectively to all children including children with special needs.

 

  • Eligibility for Admission:
  • The eligibility for this B.Ed. course is B.A./B.Sc. or an equivalent degree at graduate level depending on the requirements for the particular course. The eligibility for admission is 45% aggregate in the qualifying degree examination.
    The regulations prescribed by the State Governments concerned with regard to minimum eligibility criteria and reservation policies may be taken into consideration. Admission procedure can be decided by respective university
